Nest Cookies

 3/4 c. butter, room temperature

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, room temperature

1 c. sugar

3/4 tsp. almond extract

2 c. all-purpose flour

1 T. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1 bag mini eggs candy

Mix together the butter, cream cheese, sugar and almond extract until well combined.  Sift into this mixture the dry ingredients and mix until they are incorporated well.  Cover and refrigerate for 45 mins.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Roll mixture into balls, placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet.  Gently indent each one using your finger to make a "nest," and place one or two mini eggs in each one.  Bake until just set and barely golden on edges - do not overbake.  These are a yummy spring treat!
